Te Wakaminenga O Nga Hapu Committees must start a registry for their whanau and hapu. Committees are formed to nominate your District Council Representatives to advocate on your behalf.
Te Wakaminenga O Nga Hapu District Councils are made up of two representatives from each committee from all of around Nu Tireni Maori District Regions to advocate on a district level.
Te Wakaminenga O Nga Hapu Council is made up of 13 Chairs that advocate on behalf of Maori and their Interests on a national level.

The Whanau Hapu Marae Council was established in 2015 to advocate for Whanau, Hapu & Marae at a national level. Our role is important; we ensure Maori interests are protected and leadership remains with Whanau Hapu Marae committees.
